My Journey So Far

In the Beginning

I (Nana Yaa Oware) was quite skeptical when I heard about Coders Who Travel Inc. (also known as The Coders Who Travel Foundation) because who is willing to teach programming, give a lifetime career coaching all for free. Really?

I thought it would be a bummer but to my surprise it was the quite opposite.

The 2025 Coders Who Travel' Excel In Your Career (EIYC) – 2nd Cohort started officially on the 30th of September 2025, where the goals were laid down for us.

We are to have the career coaching for three months then the programming would continue.

How It Was Going

• We were taught on how to write a resume or a CV. We were briefed about the do’s and don’ts, some of the do’s which were to make even our small accomplishments look very well dressed.
• With the help of Ms. Afia Owusu-Forfie (Founder) and her team (Angela Azumah Alu, PhD and Mrs. Nah-Abiah A.) we were taught the minor things we all didn’t know.
• We were taught on how to present which included our dressing, mannerism, asking questions about companies you are applying to and so much more.
• We were also briefed a little on applying to schools and its like.
• We were told to get a mind map to show our journey.

The End

• Coders Who Travel Inc. has being a lovely family to me for the past three months. I would like to use this platform to thank Ms. Afia and her team for everything, from the submitting of resume to the Judging events with Prince Boadu, CSCP, CMILT , Sarah Osei , Asma M. Ali, PhD and Christina Alva as well.

Thank you so much for the advice on how to present and if for nothing at all I learnt two valuable things: that I must speak with confidence, I must do my extensive research in order to show the company that I am prepared and I am the best candidate.
