Before joining the career training program organized by Coders Who Travel Inc, I really had a tough time deciding on what I wanted to become and how to approach it. This program has helped me gain more ideas to gain more opportunities.
Coders Who Travel Inc is a non-profit organization that’s changing how young people see technology and their careers. It is founded by a Ghanaian woman known as Afia Owusu-Forfie, who is a statistician, computer scientist and a data analytics consultant. She has worked in the United States with major organizations. She has a way of breaking down complex ideas into bite sized lessons. Her encouragement makes lessons feel real and engaging.
Coders Who Travel is not just about coding as the name suggests, it also runs career training programs that teach practical skills we don’t learn at school.

I used to think that a cover letter was just another CV. CTW taught me that it’s a sales pitch to why I am a good fit. I was taught to:
This was new to me. CWT helped me understand the concept and aided in creating one.
Overall, CWT has been an eye-opening experience that has taught me a lot of practical skills I can use in the near future. I have been taught how to present myself professionally, manage my time and communicate effectively. CWT has not only taught me but has made me discover more about myself.
